Chairman Vyron Vasileiadis welcomes Prime Minister Mitsotakis to new offices

Chairman Vyron Vasileiadis welcomed Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to the new headquarters of V Group of Companies in the Piraeus Tower, specifically on the 22nd and top floor of the iconic building.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by the Mayor of Piraeus, Yiannis Moralis, and Mr. Dimitris Andriopoulos, CEO of Dimand, who, together with EBRD and PRODEA Investments, revitalized this architectural landmark in the heart of Europe’s largest passenger port. Piraeus Tower represents the most innovative, cutting-edge “green” practices and is the first high-rise building in Greece to receive LEED Platinum certification.

The first “green” multi-story building in Greece is a pioneering example of sustainable architecture and environmental stewardship. Certified as a model of sustainable design, this landmark structure incorporates the most advanced and effective environmental methods, making it a beacon of eco-friendly construction. Spanning an impressive 34,600 square meters, the building is thoughtfully divided across 22 floors, each designed to maximize efficiency and minimize ecological impact.

The study, design and implementation of the new V Group of Companies headquarters were carried out by the architectural firm PILA Architects, led by Elias Papageorgiou and Christina Papalexandri, who also oversaw the new facade of the Tower. The facade study was conducted by engineers Eckersley O’ Callaghan, while the lighting design was managed by Danilof Studio.

The current facade of the Piraeus Tower consists of a modular system of vertical and horizontal panels that help reduce the building’s energy consumption. Specifically, each vertical fin is slightly offset from one floor to the next, creating a subtle pattern of movement. Additionally, they have slightly different angles from one another, as each is specifically designed for its particular location, highlighting the best views. The inspiration for this harmonious movement comes from the small continuous waves that form on the water when the wind blows.

Indeed, from a distance or from the garden on the third floor, the image resembles the textured surface of the sea when filled with small surface ripples.

The 22nd floor hosts the administrative services of V Group, as well as Antipollution and Ven Engineering, along with the departments of international development, research and innovation and technology.
