Antipollution Egypt Honors Graduates of Port Reception Facilities (PRF) Training Course in Exclusive Award Ceremony

Suez, Egypt – November 12, 2024

In a landmark event highlighting Antipollution Egypt’s dedication to the highest standards in health, safety, and environmental stewardship, over 85% of subcontractors who completed the comprehensive Port Reception Facilities (PRF) training program were in attendance.

These subcontractors were awarded certificates during an exclusive ceremony held on November 12, 2024, at Port Tawfiq in Suez, Egypt.

The award ceremony was attended by prominent figures from the maritime and environmental sectors, including Captain Ahmed Lotfy, Assistant Commander of Port Tawfiq Port representing the Suez Canal Authority; Stelios Karampelas, Deputy Chairman of Euroshore; Captain Dimitrios Melidis, Chief Operations Director at Antipollution; Admiral Ahmed Hassan Mohamed Soffar, Vice Chairman of the Red Sea Port Authority; Admiral Osama Saleh, Vice Chairman of the Red Sea Port Authority; Mr. Eric Adam, Member of the Board of Directors of Antipollution Egypt; and Captain Nabil Galat, EMSC.

In his statement, Mr. Kriton Katsamenis, CEO of Antipollution Egypt, emphasized the organization’s ongoing commitment to fostering a safer and more environmentally sound operational framework within the Suez Canal and its associated ports. “This training initiative reaffirms Antipollution Egypt’s dedication to achieving net-zero emissions and advancing sustainable practices within port operations. We are proud of the subcontractors who have not only completed this rigorous training program but have also embraced these core values,” stated Mr. Katsamenis.

The PRF training program, an essential element of Antipollution Egypt’s safety and environmental protocols, focused on critical health, safety, and regulatory standards, as well as waste management best practices essential for port reception operations. Designed to enhance operational safety and environmental compliance, the training also aligns with the broader strategy of creating a “Green Canal by 2030.”

This initiative reflects Antipollution Egypt’s position as the exclusive waste management provider for vessels navigating through the Suez Canal, contributing to a cleaner, safer maritime environment. With industry leaders and stakeholders in attendance, the award ceremony underscored Antipollution’s pivotal role in transforming environmental practices in Egypt’s ports and waterways.
